Japan’s construction industry faces a massive challenge in attracting female talent, as traditional gender stereotypes hinder proper workforce integration.

Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA) is setting up a transformation office to implement the construction industry transformation map (ITM), and seek out synergies from the ITMs in the BE cluster in the long run.

Japan’s telecommunications giant KDDI Corp demonstrated how an unmanned construction machine could be remotely controlled via a next-generation 5G wireless system.

Even as the industry is faltering in some parts of the world, the innovation push has never been healthier, and holds much potential for construction in the coming decade.
